Comparison
CBP vs CFA Private Equity Certificate
Board charter vs modular PE certificate
The CFA Institute Private Equity Certificate is a modular certificate within the CFA learning ecosystem. Chartered Buyout Professional® is an independent board-governed charter with a published buyout CBOK, proctored virtual data room case, and CBP post-nominal issued only by IBPES. They are not interchangeable.
Candidates comparing modular private equity certificates with a full charter should examine who sets the standard, what proctored assessment applies, and whether the issuer sells training. IBPES publishes both answers for CBP.
